Mousebreaker partners Brain Media to power multi-player tournaments!

October 28, 2010

  • Brain Media technology platform selected by leading UK casual games site
  • Mousebreaker to launch multi-player skill game tournaments for most popular franchises

IPC Men & Music leading casual games site Mousebreaker and Brain Media today announce a strategic partnership agreement to use Brain Media's game play technology platform to power multiplayer skill game tournaments – and an enhanced playing experience – on leading casual games site www.mousebreaker.com.

The BrainDash platform will enable Mousebreaker to offer free and cash prize tournament versions of some of Mousebreaker's most popular games such as Blast Billiards and Jumpers For Goalposts. In addition Mousebreaker intends to use the technology to improve player engagement, including the launch of a richer system of game awards, player ranking, leader boards and virtual items.

Kevin Heery, director of digital development for IPC Men and Music, commented: “We are excited to partner with the Brain Media team to take the UK's favourite games site for men to the next level. Brain Media's game play platform is state of the art and will help Mousebreaker have a deeper and more engaging relationship with our players.”

David Caswell, CEO of Brain Media added: “Partnering with one of UK's most successful online games sites is a major milestone in the evolution of our BrainDash game play platform. We believe this deal plays to both companies' strengths and we're delighted to be playing a part in expanding the Mousebreaker experience.”

About Mousebreaker
With 4.5m unique users each month, Mousebreaker is the largest UK-based casual games site for young men. Launched in 2001, it joined IPC Media's popular male brands including NME and Nuts in 2008. The website is best known for its popular sports games, topical satirical games and the cheeky British sense of humour present throughout its catalogue. Its most popular games have been recognised by games enthusiasts as being among the best on the web, while The Guardian has recognised its status as publisher of some of the internet's most addictive sports games. No news item is safe from the satirical bite of Mousebreaker's game designers, with swine flu, Jedward, Fred Goodwin, Emmanuel Adebayor and even Gordon Brown feeling the effects in recent years. In addition to the site's regular games output, Mousebreaker produces games for global blue chip brands including Sony Pictures, Foster's, Disney and ESPN. Mousebreaker has been at the forefront in introducing innovative advertising formats including full page takeovers and the revolutionary InSkin game wrapper. Recently Mousebreaker has launched on a dedicated Facebook site and has launched one of its most successful franchises Blast Billiards onto the iPhone becoming a Top Ten Paid Games Bestseller and leapfrogging games such as Grand Theft Auto, Rock Band and Tetris. Blast Billiards also made the number one position in paid-for sports games on the iPhone.
