BrainDash releases custom avatar builder
March 2011
BrainDash - a leading UK online trivia quiz and games site - has introduced a custom avatar builder for its users.
Players who register on the site will now be able to design their own character that will be displayed on their profile and appear to other users through tournament leader boards and the BrainDash community.
They can choose a number of features to create their perfect character, from hair and eye colour to the shape of their nose and any accessories they want their cartoon version of themselves to wear.
Registered players will be given one avatar free of charge, which they will then be able to customise and change as they please.
Facebook users can see some of the creations members could come up with when they use the avatar builder by heading to the BrainDash page on the social networking site.
Hannah Gunter, site editor of BrainDash, comments: "We're really excited about the introduction of our custom avatar builder. It's great fun to create a cartoon version of yourself and it's something we think our members will really love."
And gamers can look forward to being able to make even more changes in future, with Ms Gunter explaining that there are plenty of developments planned over the coming weeks and months.
"We're intending to introduce lots more items and features to the avatars soon, by the time we're finished, gamers will be able to change every aspect of their character, from their clothing to the accessories they're holding.
"Some of these features and items will be free and others can be earned by playing games on the site. We want people to keep updating their avatars and have some fun with it," she states.
BrainDash hopes that the avatars will become a popular feature of the online games community.
"These avatars will add a whole new dimension to the site - and bring even more fun into the games people play.
"Being able to win items for avatars will be an added incentive to sit down and play games on BrainDash," Ms Gunter enthuses.
Among the games that users can play are TV quiz classics, such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Bullseye and Catchphrase, featuring Roy Walker, as well as online favourites Springo Bingo and Golf Solitaire.
